The project
Mayaguana North Beach is an ultra-luxury resort and branded residential destination planned for the north shore of Mayaguana, one of the most remote and unspoiled islands in The Bahamas. It is one of three Caribbean resort and branded residential projects under development with Aventra.
Why it is demanding
Mayaguana is one of the most remote islands in The Bahamas. There is no established construction supply chain, labor has to be mobilized and housed, and every material arrives by sea. A destination of this ambition also has to be legible to two audiences at once: the hospitality brands whose standards will shape the program, and the capital that expects those standards to be delivered on budget.
What Aventra does
Aventra leads predevelopment advisory for the destination: program strategy, hospitality brand outreach, and investor positioning. On a far island, the earliest decisions carry the most weight, and the program, brand alignment, and capital story must be right before anything is built. That is precisely the work under way.
What an owner should take from it
Brand and capital conversations on an out-island go better when the person leading them has actually built on one. The program has to be sized to what the island can support logistically, not only to what the market study says it can absorb.
